Day-Trips Available (Manila)

Day trips and part-day trips are available within and around Manila.

Vic can help you mix and match whatever trips take your fancy.
Intramous, Manila

A very interesting day tour in Manila involves seeing Intramuros, Manila, a walled city built during the Spanish colonial period. Inside the walls of Intramuros is an old San Agustin Church, Fort Santiago, a reconstructed Spanish garrison, and the Casa Manila Museum.

Some of these buildings have been devastated by wars and earthquakes and then rebuilt, giving one an incredible sense of history. Horse drawn buggies are available to those that would like to ride through these streets rather than walk.
Driving through Manila

There is much to explore outside Manila, but also much within it.

We can drive through Makati, the business sector of Manila, to see the hub of corporate business and financial center of the city. Or drive past the classic mansions owned by the weathiest of Philippine society. Conversely, we could detour to the local markets where you can find merchants displaying their wares.

Churches such as San Agustin, the Manila Cathedral, and others are always open to the public. With such a strong Roman Catholic background, the Philippines has churches and religious landmarks everywhere to explore!

Finish the day with a drive around the beautiful Manila Bay, where you can take a stroll along the boulevard and enjoy a wonderous sunset. Soon after Manila's night life awakens.
Visit China Town

China Town in the Philippines is the oldest in the world, established in 1594. The Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arch stands in the middle of downtown Manila, as a gateway into Chinatown.

The Spaniards originally donated the land to the Catholic Chinese and they were allowed to self govern in that area. Chinatown has become a firmly established area of Manila. Once you go through the Friendship Arch, you will be introduced to the noises and markets typical of a Chinese neighbourhood.

Presently Chinatown is getting a "facelift", making it more pedestrian friendly so that tourists and locals can wander freely throughout the area.
The Mall of Asia

The Mall of Asia can be a treat for people that have never seen an olympic size skating rink or IMAX theater. The mall has excellent air conditioning, which makes it very pleasant to walk through.

There are many dining and drinking facilities, varying from decadent to lavish. Eager to keep exploring? Grab a quick bite at a fast food place - or put exploring on hold and have a fine dinner at a real restaurant.

Any tour can be adjusted to keep you happy and fed.
